Lightning Bolt Part 2

Just a quick photo or two or three - this is the layout of the ride from MGM Grand Adventures after it was expanded:

And this is a nice view of some of the expanded part:

MGM Grand Adventures Theme Park

I got the chance to go to the MGM Grand Theme Park at the MGM Grand Hotel in Vegas in 1997. At that point, half the park had already been gutted. Many of the rides were already removed, such as the interesting looking boat ride and ghost house. I think they had been trying to revive the park by adding a 250 ft. skycoaster, SkyScreamer, which I did partake in. Apparently it was the world's tallest at the time.
The river raft ride was decent with theming I believe done by R&R Creative Amusement Designs, or at least decent theming on a budget. They also had a coaster, Lightning Bolt, which started as an indoor ride, was them moved outdoors (which is when I rode it), and then eventually added on to by Arrow. It was a weird ride with weird trains.
If you have some spare cash, it's still for sale:
This park has always made me curious, even though I was actually in it. I'll have to see what else I can dig up.

X-Flight Flies Away

So let's open things up with some interesting news: X-Flight is being removed from Geauga Lake.

The posts on all the boards from the ever-so-cryptic "insiders" point to it flying over to Kings Island. That's odd to me, but I've read enough times that PKI and GL do not share markets at all that I will just roll with it.

I think further thoughts on what GL is up to will be forthcoming.
